Embroidery digitizing for USA & worldwide customers

Appliqué Embroidery Digitizing

Appliqué places a piece of fabric on the garment and stitches around it instead of filling the whole area with thread. It gives large designs a bold, textured look with far fewer stitches, which is why it is used for varsity letters, sorority and fraternity apparel and big team names.

Our appliqué files include every step your operator needs: a placement line to position the fabric, a tackdown to hold it and a clean satin or bean-stitch finish around the edge. USA shops get lower stitch counts and faster run times on large designs.

Tips for the best Appliqué Digitizing results

Pick the edge finish

Satin borders give a classic varsity look; zigzag or bean stitch give a raw-edge style. Tell us which you want.

Mention layered fabrics

Two-layer (twill on twill) appliqué needs a sequence for each layer. We build it into one file.

Ask for templates

If you precut fabric, we can supply cutting outlines that match the placement line exactly.

How ordering works

Appliqué Digitizing FAQs

Why use appliqué instead of a full embroidery fill?+

For large designs appliqué uses a fraction of the stitches, sews faster and keeps the garment soft and flexible, while giving a bold fabric texture.

Does the file stop so I can place the fabric?+

Yes. The file includes the stops your machine needs after the placement line and the tackdown so your operator can position and trim the fabric.

How much does appliqué digitizing cost?+

Appliqué digitizing starts at $12, depending on size and the number of fabric layers. You see the price before work starts.
