Embroidery digitizing for USA & worldwide customers
Cap & Hat Embroidery Digitizing
A cap front is curved, stiff and sewn on a rotating cap frame, so a file made for a flat shirt usually sews crooked, gaps at the edges or flags in the middle when it runs on a hat.
Our cap files are digitized for the frame: the design is sequenced from the center outward and bottom to top, underlay is set for structured and unstructured crowns, and columns are compensated for the curve. It is the file USA hat shops and brands need for clean front, side and back logos.

Tips for the best Cap & Hat Digitizing results
Mind the cap size limit
Most cap fronts fit designs up to about 2.25 inches tall and 5 inches wide. Tell us your frame size and we will fit the design to it.
Name the cap style
Structured caps have a buckram front that holds its shape; unstructured caps flex. Each needs different underlay.
Consider puff for the front
Bold cap-front logos often look best in 3D puff. We can digitize flat and puff versions of the same design.

Cap & Hat Digitizing FAQs
Why can't I use my shirt embroidery file on a cap?+
Shirt files are sequenced for a flat hoop. On a curved cap frame the same file tends to shift and gap. Cap files are built to sew from the center out so the design stays aligned.
What is the maximum design size for a cap front?+
It depends on your cap frame and the cap, but about 2.25 inches tall by 5 inches wide is typical. We fit your design to the size you give us.
How much does cap digitizing cost?+
Cap and hat digitizing starts at $15, with 3D puff cap designs from $20. You see the price before work starts.
