3D Puff Embroidery Digitizing in the USA

3D puff embroidery sews over a layer of foam to create a raised, bold design that stands off the fabric. It is the look behind most premium snapback and trucker caps, and it only works when the file is digitized specifically for foam.

Puff files need wider satin columns, higher density to cut the foam cleanly, capped ends so foam does not poke out, and the right stitch order so the foam is sealed at every edge. Tajima Digitizer builds puff designs from scratch for exactly that, so cap decorators and apparel brands across the USA get a clean, even raise on the first run.

Tips for the best 3D Puff Digitizing results

Keep details bold

Puff works best on lettering and shapes at least about 0.2 inches wide. Very thin details are usually sewn flat alongside the raised areas.

Tell us the foam thickness

Common foam is 2 mm to 3 mm. Thicker foam needs a little more density and wider columns.

Mention the cap style

Structured and unstructured caps sew differently. Knowing the style helps us plan the stitch sequence from the center out.

3D Puff Digitizing FAQs

Can you convert my existing flat embroidery file to 3D puff?+

We rebuild it for puff rather than converting. Flat files use columns and densities that do not cover foam properly, so a true puff file is digitized fresh from the artwork.

How much does 3D puff digitizing cost?+

3D puff digitizing starts at $20. The price is confirmed before work begins. Request free corrections to the original order within 30 calendar days of final delivery. There is no limit on correction rounds for an issue reported in time. New artwork, extra sizes and changed specifications are quoted separately.

Can one design have both puff and flat embroidery?+

Yes. We often combine raised lettering with flat outlines or small details in a single file, sequenced so the foam is added at the right point.
