Embroidery digitizing for USA & worldwide customers

Small Lettering Embroidery Digitizing

Small text is the hardest thing to embroider well. Letters under a quarter inch tall fill in, counters in letters like 'e' and 'a' close up, and thin serifs disappear, so a name or tagline that looks fine on screen becomes unreadable on the shirt.

Tajima Digitizer digitizes small lettering for embroidery shops and uniform suppliers across the USA with settings built for tiny text: narrow satin columns, light underlay, adjusted spacing and simplified fonts where needed, so every word stays readable.

Tips for the best Small Lettering results

Keep text at least 0.25 inches

About 0.25 inches (6 mm) tall is a practical minimum for most fonts. Below that we adjust the font and spacing to stay readable.

Prefer simple fonts

Clean sans-serif fonts sew better at small sizes than thin script or detailed serif fonts.

Match thread weight

For very small text a 60 weight thread and a smaller needle give sharper results. Tell us if you use one.
